This 2010 report, the second of its kind, fulfils the Prime Minister’s pledge in his Apology speech to table an annual report to Parliament on progress in Closing the Gap.

This 2009 document outlines the Australian Government’s approach to improving the socio-economic status of Indigenous people and overcoming a long history of disadvantage in living standards, life-expectancy, education, health and employment.

In 2008, the Federal Government announced a new approach to tackling the problem of homelessness in Australia and halving overall homelessness by 2020.
The Australian Government White Paper on Homelessness: The Road Home
The Road Home sets the strategic agenda for halving homelessness by 2020 and providing supported accommodation to all rough sleepers who need it.
Drugs
National Drugs Strategy 2004–2009 and the Next Phase
The current phase of the National Drug Strategy 2004–2009 is in its final year of implementation. The Ministerial Council on Drug Strategy has sought input (the submission process is now closed) from expert stakeholders and the broader community on directions for the strategy 2010–2015.
