Second Wave Funding for E-Health Sites
(Applications Close 2pm Thursday 23 December)
Applications are requested from organisations to be involved in the second wave of Australian Government e-health grant funding. The Department of Health and Ageing, in collaboration with the National E-Health Transition Authority, is calling for organisations to submit their applications by 2pm on Thursday 23rd December 2010. The successful sites will enable Australians who choose to participate, along with their approved health care providers, to securely access their health information online.

Forum - Free To Move: Planning for Action on Accessible Transport in Victoria
VCOSS is building on its previous Accessible Transport Watch Project to campaign for accessible transport. This forum will discuss the recent changes and future improvements in enhancing physical access to public transport. Morning tea will be provided.

Professional Development Workshop - Managing clients who present with a Dual Diagnosis
Dual Diagnosis describes the co-occurring problems of mental illness and substance misuse problems. Dual Diagnosis affects up to one third of all clients with a severe mental illness such as Schizophrenia, and community care agencies are becoming increasingly involved in the care and support of mentally ill people who abuse alcohol or unprescribed drugs.
This one day workshop is suitable for: Health Professionals, Supported Housing Workers and Social Care Staff.

The Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association (VAADA) will be holding its 2011 Conference on 17-18 February at the Jasper Hotel, Melbourne. The Conference program will focus on the transitions and movements within the alcohol and other drug (AOD) field as we move towards 2020.

2011 Conference: Young People, Risk and Resilience: the challenges of alcohol, drugs and violence.
Conference organised by the Australian Institute of Criminology and the Victorian Safe Communities Network. Evidence suggests that young people who experiment with alcohol and other drugs are more likely to participate in other high risk activities, be involved in violent incidents and compromise their own safety or the safety and wellbeing of others. The Conference will look at what interventions are likely to reduce risks from, and increase resilience to, these potentially harmful activities.
