Description

The Office of Housing, Department of Human Services, releases information about public housing. Information shows the number of applicants on public housing waiting and transfer lists. The Office of Housing also provides information about public housing stock (summary of stock by dwelling types) in its publication, Summary of Housing Assistance Programs.

Public housing waiting and transfer list figures are estimates only since they can vary within a quarter depending on those applying for public housing. For example, figures in one quarter can include those who have found suitable accommodation but are yet to inform the Office of Housing.

Public housing figures are useful if you want to know how many people have applied for public housing in a given area over a given period of time.
